Dear Boris Borgstrøm
Only now we learn - through the highly restrictive press -that your father, Ernst Borgstrøm, is deceased.
Danish Accordion Players' National Association want with these few lines to express sincere participation in the sorrow of Ernst Borgstrøms passing away, and the Board, as well as many many members have asked the business committee to inform you and your family of our deepest sympathy.
Ernst Borgstrøms efforts in the Danish accordion development through a very long period, made him a Danish music history personality, and that he, in addition also reached that mark in Canada, emphasizes his capability.
Ernst was a groundbreaking pioneer, and we in the Danish Accordion Players' Federation is proud to be able to call us his country men, - we will always honor his memory.

Ernst Borgstrøm var allerede som barn optaget af at spille. I en alder of 10 år spillede han store klassiske værker. Da han var 15 optrådte han professionelt, og i en alder af 19 havde han indspillet adskillige grammofonplader for "Beka" og
"His Master's Voice".
I 1919 slog han sig sammen med Herman Gellin og blev en verdenskendt halvdel af duoen "Gellin og Borgstrøm".
